Show Jumping championships
Hosani jumps to victory In capital event -12 Nov 2006

Rashid Ahmed Al Hosani from the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club clinched the first place in the principle competition at the weekend show jumping competitions held at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club premises. Riding Illimane, Rashid finished the Class 7: A2 (One Round with Jump-Off) ride in 39.20 seconds.

Second place in the category went to Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum from Emirates Riding Centre who was astride Covers Pride and clocked 40.34 seconds. Abdullah Mohammed Al Marri, also from Emirates Riding Centre, finished third on Randor K in a timing of 40.65 seconds.

 

In another featured category Class 6: B2 (One Round with Jump-Off), Abdul Rahman Al Habsi from ADEC bagged the first place riding Family d Montois and finishing the round in 33.72 seconds. Second place went to Sheikh Majid Al Qassimi from Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club who was riding Okkie and recorded a timing of 37.36 seconds. Bader Nasser Al Zaabi from Emirates Riding Centre finished third riding Lady Maid and clocked 39.39 seconds.

The competitions were organized by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation as part of its drive to promote the discipline in the UAE.

In the Class 5 C2 (One Round with Jump-Off) competition, Saif Mohammed Al Tunaiji from the Emirates Heritage Club, finished first riding Granada 232. Second place went to Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi from Sharjah Equestrian Club who partnered with Suzuki Ratkerane and third place was shared by Ahmed Nabeel Falaknaz from Al Safinat Stables and Rashid Mohammed Al Rumaithi from Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.

As many as 29 jumpers participated in the Class2: A3 (Clear Round Jumping) competition. 34 jumpers participated in Class 4: C2 (Clear Round Jumping) and 22 in Class 3: B3 (Clear Round Jumping).

15 qualify in endurance Ride for ladies -12 Nov 2006


The UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, in cooperation with the Al Asayl Stables, organsied a Federation Qualification ride for ladies at Al Asayl Stables on November 10, 2006. The ride was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Federation and under the supervision of Sheikha Alyazia bint Sultan Al Nahyan.

Fifteen lady riders qualified in the 40-km qualifying ride which had attracted a field of 22 riders. The ride was run in three phases of 15 km, 15 km and 10 km respectively.

 

Following are the riders/horses who qualified in the event:

Sheikha Alyazia bint Sultan Al Nahyan (Mutamayiz), Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan Al Nahyan (Salashil), Sheikha Madiya Hasher Mana Al Maktoum (Solid As A Rock), Sheikha Hissa bint Omar Al Qassimi (Ameer Al Dahaise), Sheikha Maryam bint Omar Al Qassimi (Dahaise), Shamsah Awad Al Otaiba, Safiya Amin Mohammed Yousif (Ciazska), Asia Salih ( Juanita), Brenda Cooke (CR Goinfor Broke), Joann (Zad Al Khyr), Daniela Winkler (JG Opie), Martha Mary Misheff (Mora Makanuda), Latifa Saeed Hamad bin Atiq (Ro-Topaz), Bayan Abdullah Abbas Ahmed (Aaly) and Lynn Abdul Aziz Al Redha (Foxtrott).

The ride was sponsored by Horse and Course, Al Murooj Trading and Al Faisal Stud. The Federation is planning three more endurance rides exclusively for ladies in the coming months.

Show jumping competitions
Humaid in good form, Wins Ajman event -5 Nov 2006

Abdullah Humaid from the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club put up a brilliant display to clinch the Class 7: A1 Show Jumping Competition (One Round with Jump Off) held over the weekend at the Ajman Equestrian Club. Riding Quatro-H, Humaid finished the round in 41.35 seconds.

Nadia Taryam, also from the Sharjah Equestrian Club, bagged the second place in the same category riding Ghiorsal. Third place went to Ahmed Ameen from Ajman Equestrian Club. He was riding Caleeto.



 

In another main event of the day, Class 4, A2 section, (One Round Against the Clock), Abdullah Mohammed from Emirates Riding Centre finished in the first place riding Secret D' Amour. Second place went to Ari Ahmed Al Ahli also from Emirates Riding Centre, who was riding Peter. Both the jumpers recorded a timing of 54.32 and 56.44 seconds respectively.

Results of other categories are as follows:

Class 6: B1 (One round with Jump-off):

1st place: Abdul Rahman Al Habsi, Adu Dhabi Equestrian Club, ADEC, Family Du Montois, 27.41 seconds:
2nd place: Mohammed Ghanim Al Hajri, Al Safinat Stables, Degenhardt's Caprisio, 29.32 seconds:
3rd place: Humaid Rashid Ejtibi, Al Arab Stables, Kan Sou Hameau.

Class 3: B2 (One Round Against the Clock):

1st place: Mohammed Ghanim Al Hajri, Al Safinat Stables, Degenhardt's Caprisio, 52.88 seconds,
2nd place: Abdul Rahman Al Kaabi, Sharjah Equestrian Club, N99 Gedconti, 54.89 seconds,
3rd place: Abdul Rahman Al Kaabi, Sharjah Equestrian Club, Deudi De la Chene.

Class 5: C 1 (Two Phases with Time):

1st place: Rashid Mohammed Al Romaithi, Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Flica III, 28.12 seconds,
2nd place: Ahmed Nabeel Falaknaz. Al Safinat Stables, Pantani 5, 27.90 seconds,
3rd place: Salim Khamis Al Suwaidi, Sharjah Equestrian Club, Heros De Sede, 25.68 seconds.


Class 2: C2 (One round Against the Clock):


1st place; Ali Mohammed Al Mariachi, Ajman Equestrian Club, Collin 40, 57.77 seconds,
2nd place: Salim Khamis Al Suwaidi, Sharjah Equestrian Club, Heros De Sede, 57.77 seconds,
3rd place: Rashed Mohammed Al Romaithi, Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Flica III, 60.56 seconds.

The competitions, held during the week-ends in different racing centres of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, are organized by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation.
