Love Me Tender Clinches UAE President Derby In Germany
13 pure-bred Arabians vied in championship

Dutch-bred horse Love Me Tender won the prestigious The President of the UAE Challenge Derby race held at the Baden Baden racecourse on Saturday, October 22, 2005.

The race featured 13 pure-bred Arabian horses aged four and above and was run over a distance of one mile on dirt track. The race, being organized by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, gave away a cash prize of 12,000 Euros.
Love Me Tender was ridden by Ian Ferguson, owned by International Lucky Stables and trained by Andreas Trybuhl.
Jockey William Mongil rode French-bred horse Serafina to second place. Serafina is owned and trained by Ms Diana A.K. Doerenberg.
The other winners are as follows:
3rd place: Nil Bedouin (Jockey: Markus Kolb, Owner: Urs Aeschbacher, Trainer: Franzisca Aeschbacher)
4th place: Mythos (Jockey: Daniel Klomp, Owner: Jean Marsot Horsemanship Syndicate, Trainer: J.P.H. Pubben)
5th place: Ircalan D.A (Jockey: Gordan Batistic, Owner and trainer: Johan Verstrepen,)
6th place: Pascha, (Jockey: Tomas Bitala, Owner and Trainer: Gerd T. Zoetelief,)
7th place: Aton'Ba, (Jockey: Norman Richter, Owner: Bernadette Morand-Savioz, Trainer: Ms. Regine Weissmeier)
The UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation has been organizing races for the Pure-bred Arabian horses for over a decade in order to enhance the status of these horses not only in the UAE but also all over the globe. The Federation's unstinted support to these races has taken the Pure-bred Arabians racing to new heights.
The attempt to boost Pure-bred Arabian horses in the international arena was flagged off by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is keen that the Pure-bred Arabian horses, which are a part of Arab culture and heritage, get the pride of place they deserved in the international arena. Constant guidance and support also comes from His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Racing Federation, who paved the way for the success of the Pure-bred Arabian horses.
This year the races have already been successfully held in Newmarket, UK, Deauville, France, Ostend, Belgium, Delaware Park, Philadelphia, US and Holland and from Germany will move on to Curragh in Ireland next week.

As many as 13 pure-bred Arabian horses are in the fray for The President of United Arab Emirates Challenge derby, which be run on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Baden Baden racecourse, Germany.
The one-mile race, being organized by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, offers a cash prize of 12,000 Euros. The races are part of the UAE President Challenge Derby for Pure-bred Arabian horses.
