Mufta Al Dhaheri Continues his dominance

Mufta Al Dhaheri from the Abu Dhabi Mounted Police continued his dominance over the show jumping competitions by winning yet again in the principle competitions at the weekend event held at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.

In the main event of the day, Class 6, A1, (One Round with Jump-off,) Mufta Al Dhaheri managed the first two places with ease riding the 13-year-old French-bred gelding Dreamlove du Candy and Idea 3 respectively. Both the horses are from the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club. Dhaheri was also placed second in Class 3, A2 category riding Ikea 3 again.

Khalid Al Juneibi from the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club was placed third in the Class 6, A1 Category. He was riding Gitane du Brumanas II.


 



Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum, from the Emirates Racing Club, riding the Irish-bred horse Covers Pride, demonstrated their collective consistency by winning the A2 category (one round with jump-off).

Second place in this category went to Ali Al Kumeiti from the Ajman Equestrian Centre. He was riding Latete.

Hamad Ali Al Kirbi from Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club recorded another notable performance. He was placed first in B2 category and was consistently placed throughout the weekend's jumping activities.

Kemal Ziri from Algeria very well designed the course.

Lt. Colonel Ronnie MacMahon, Technical Advisor, UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, commenting on the competitions, stated:

"Indeed many of the horse/rider combinations failed to read the technical courses correctly and consequently their scored indicated their errors.

"Our riders require more technical classes as we had here in this show. This is the only way we can improve our training and riders' skill."

Meanwhile Rasha Hareb from the UAE clinched the first place at an international show jumping competition held at Olympia Park in Munich, Germany during the weekend. The competition titled "Springprufung Kl. S mit Stechen - international, featured international riders from many countries including Germany, Sweden, Austria, USA, Isreal and Argentina. The UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation is holding show jumping competitions at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club premises on Thursday, December 2 and Friday, December 3, 2004.

The categories include Class No 1, Class No 2. B2, Class No 3, A2 and Class No 4, C2, which will be held on the first day whereas Friday will witness Class No 5 C1/B2, Class No 6, A1 and Class No 7, B1/A2. The competitions will begin at 4 pm.

The officials who will be overseeing the competitions include Lt. Col Ronnie MacMahon (NF Representative), Mr. Sultan Abdullah (Jury President), Mr. Ahmed Al Junaibi (member), Mr. Paul de Benedictis, Mr. Saad Al Juneibi (member), Mrs Lynn Al Redha (NF Steward), Mr Kemal Zeri (course designer) and Dr.Chris Hillidge ( NF Veterinary Officer).

The show jumping department at the Federation organizes competitions every weekend in different parts of the emirates including Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.
Mufta Al Dhaheri In superb form

Mufta Al Dhaheri from the Abu Dhabi Mounted Police was in a superb form winning two featured events during the weekend's show jumping competitions held at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club on November 18 and 19, 2004.

Riding Quinta, Dhaheri won the Class 6, A2 One Round with Jump-off event and also the Class 3, A2, One Round against the clock. Riding Dreamlove du Candy, Dhaheri also clinched the second place in Class 6 category. Dhaheri rode a total of three horses. He also bagged the second place in the Class 3 category riding Idea 3.

The day featured a total of seven classes, which catered for all categories of riders.

Majeed Al Marzouqi from Ajman Equestrian Club, quite a popular endurance rider too, dominated the Class 7, B2 Category. He recorded a superb performance riding Hector du Quensnoy and emerged the clean winner. Second place in this event went to Said Omar Thabit from Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club who was riding Dejbelle Corubert. A very high standard of equestrianism was displayed at the competitions. The course was very well designed by Christopher Richez. Lt. Colonel Ronnie MacMahon, Technical Advisor, UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, commenting on the competitions, stated: The Federation is delighted with the improvement in the general standard. Performances as we have seen here by Muftah Al Dhaheri indicate the high quality of our leading riders." The next show jumping event will be held at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club on December 2 and 3, 2004.
