Eight in field for The President of the UAE
Challenge Derby in US


Eight Pure-bred Arabian horses will be vying for the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation Arabian Stakes to be run in Delaware Park Race Course, Wilmington, Philadelphia, US, on Saturday, September 8, 2007. The races are part of The President of the United Arab Emirates Prize for Pure-bred Arabian horses.

The coveted race will be run over a distance of 2000 meters for a purse of $100,000 and will feature Pure-bred Arabian horses aged three and above. The horses include Geronimo (owned by Lonnie C. Crowell and ridden by Roberto Alvarado Jr), Fuego IA (Owned by Island Arabians and ridden by Eric C. Valles), Aim South (Owned by Bill Waldron and ridden by Enrique M. Jurado), Our Machine (Owned by Bill Waldron and ridden by Gabriel Saez), Thoroughbred (owned by William J. Hollick and ridden by Guy Neivens), Sey Spottsproof (owned by Anne Seymour and ridden by Alvaro T. Torres) Fryvolous (Owned by Dianne K. Waldron and ridden by Oliver Castillo) and Doctor (Owned by Jose Salud Rodrigues and ridden by Esteban E. Unsihuay).

The current season has already seen races in Newmarket in England, Deauville in France, Curragh in Ireland, Ostend in Belgium, Moscow in Russia and Sandown in England and will conclude with races in Baden Baden in Germany.
